Get yourself ready for winter
We currently have the following dry firewood available and ready to burn now:

Old Man Pine
Old man pine is from trees aged 30 years or more. It’s denser than ordinary pine and contains more resin, so it burns for longer and puts out more heat.
Blue Gum
Being high density means that each piece of wood has more energy waiting to be released when compared to soft or medium woods. It burns for longer, and it burns hotter, and although more expensive per load, will last much longer, and works out to be very cost effective in the long run.
Because of its high density, it requires a very good base to enable it to burn efficiently and therefore can not be burnt to its full potential by itself. Mix with soft woods such as Pine, or medium woods such as Oregon, or Macrocarpa to get a solid base fire up to heat. Then stoke with the Blue Gum to get a consistent, long burning fire.
Macrocarpa
Macrocarpa is a medium density wood which means it is still relatively easy to catch a flame, and can still be burnt by itself. It is slower burning than pine and other softwoods meaning it will last longer, and ultimately release more heat into the room over the duration of the burn. Not suitable for open fires as it sparks.
